Baptism marks the beginning of a lifelong journey as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Through baptism, we are joined with God, the Church, and the congregation of Covenant. The water and the work of the Holy Spirit in baptism convey God’s saving grace, the forgiveness of our sins, and new life in Jesus Christ.
Anyone may be baptized—infants, children, youth, or adult.
United Methodists baptize using different methods. Typically, infants are baptized using "sprinkling," but you may also elect to be baptized using "immersion" or "pouring."
Methodists believe that a person receives the Sacrament of Baptism only once in his or her lifetime.
